VERNON HILLS, IL -- Zebra Technologies (Nasdaq: ZBRA) announced an agreement to acquire WhereNet Corp for $126 million in an all cash transaction. WhereNet provides integrated "active" RFID-based solutions that assist in tracking and locating enterprise assets. Applications include vehicle inventory tracking, truck yard management and marine cargo tracking. Zebra intends to operate WhereNet as a separate business unit, which it expects to generate $50 million in sales in 2007, up from $36 million in 2006.
